Start in the Glass Arts Studio and make an 11-inch-square, fused-glass table insert. Then head over to the Woodworking Studio to make a beautiful martini/coffee/wine/cider side table for your glass insert. Have fun in both studios and learn something new!
Session 1: Start your table-making adventure in the glass studio, where you'll learn:
- How to select glass.
- Learn the basics of glass cutting.
- Assemble the table top.
- Fuse your piece.
- Finish and prepare the fused-glass piece for your table.
Sessions 2 and 3: In the woodworking studio, you'll use cherry wood to build a small shaker-inspired table to support your glass top. You'll learn several woodworking techniques, including:
- Cutting tapered legs.
- Creating joints using mortises and floating tenons (dominos).
- Finishing with wax/oil.

Skill level: Beginner. This is an introductory class for both the glass and wood studios. No previous glass or woodworking experience is required.

A $75 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything you'll need.
Class Policies
You must wear close-toed shoes, long pants, and safety glasses. Safety glasses are provided by the studios if you don't have your own.
