Book cloth is wonderful for making boxes and of course, bindings as well. However, it is expensive and limited in colors and patterns. We’ll learn two easy ways to make your own book cloth from simple materials and almost any type of cloth yardage. These techniques can be duplicated at home or at the BARN. The equipment at the BARN is easy to use, and this workshop will train you on the equipment so you can come use it anytime the studio is open.

Just about any cloth will work, and we’ll discuss cloth weave and fibers. You’ll go home with a great new skill set and several pieces of book cloth as well! 

MJ Linford is a nationally known book artist who specializes in pop-up books.  She makes book cloth for her books as a way to incorporate content and image.

A complete supply list will be sent upon registration. Supply fee is payable at the beginning of the workshop.
