About

Free class using Fusion 360 and the Metals Fabrication Shop's computer controlled milling Machine.

In this class you will use the Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, Fusion 360, to generate the Control code (G code) to make the letters for a sign project on our CNC milling machine for the Commons downstairs at BARN. Your work will help acknowledge a major benefactor of BARN and will be viewed by many people.

You will then use the code to cut the letters out of plastic. This will help you learn the techniques to go from a design to a finished piece by selecting tools, depth of cut, speeds and feeds as well as fixturing. Although this is a machine shop class, this class will help prepare you for using a CNC router as well.

Prerequisites: None. This is a Beginners class.

Please register. Class is limited to 2 students. Other classes are being offered through the month of December and beginning of January. See the Metal Arts calendar here.
