Ever noticed the Accuquilt machine in a corner of the the studio and wondered what it is? Here’s your chance for a quick hands-on tour.

The Accuquilt machine can cut up to 10 layers of quilting-weight cotton at once using one of the many available dies. After a little bit of setup, the machine can quickly and easily cut very precisely and accurately. The pieces you cut can be used for piecing or for appliqué.

The Accuquilt and all the dies were donated to BARN in the summer of 2019. Let’s take a look at this generous donation and try it out using some of the holiday-themed dies included in the donation. You'll take home a few pieces that you have cut, ready for an appliqué project. We’ll also review where to get more information and ideas for using this great machine—you’ll come away inspired!

You can use BARN’s stash of quilting cotton to test the machine, or you can bring fabric from home.

Registration is limited so that everyone has a chance to try the machine hands-on. If the registration is full, please add your name to the waiting list (at no cost) so we know we should schedule another session.

• This lunchtime lab is is free to members, $20 for guests. Members and guests are asked to pay a $5.00 materials fee.

Instructor:

Fran Fuller learned to sew from her mother when she was 6 or 7 and made clothing and other projects for herself and for friends through high school and college. Now she sews bags, apparel, and other projects at home and at BARN. She is the coordinator of the BARN sewing program.
