Curious about letterpress but not ready to take the plunge into professional textbooks and technicalities? This afternoon session is designed for just that.

You’ll get hands-on experience with movable type under the guidance of two experts as you craft a dozen two-color, personalized bookmarks to keep for yourself or give away to the favorite readers in your life. If you've ever wanted to learn more about letterpress, this is an excellent opportunity to find out whether letterpress is for you!

Instructors:
Carl Youngmann and Ellie Mathews operate The North Press in Port Townsend, where they make custom bookmarks and much more with the collection of two hundred antique type fonts they’ve acquired during the thirty-five years they’ve been printing the old-fashioned way.

NOTE: Members are free, but should register, since there is a cap on enrollment. Non-members have a $15 fee.
