Saturdays, October 11 to November 15. Classes are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. except October 11 and November 8, when they will shift a half-hour later, starting immediately after the monthly woodshop meeting.

Make a bowl or candlestick holders as you learn the basics of wood-turning on a midi lathe. This is a bench-top lathe suitable for making small bowls, spindles and other small-diameter objects, such as finials.

No experience is necessary. Wood and all tools provided. A $5 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

The first six people to register for this class will be scheduled for the times and dates listed. Additional sections will be opened if demand warrants.

INSTRUCTOR:  Lee Stollar has been turning wood for about 15 years. His large bowls, often made from trees that grew on Bainbridge, have been featured in fund-raising auctions at IslandWood, where he volunteers, and are sold at the Bainbridge Arts & Crafts gallery. He has also participated in the Bainbridge Studio Tours.
