This class will cover how to convert three-dimensional shapes into a series of two-dimensional pieces that can be cut on the laser cutter.

The class will cover finger joints and intricate variations, as well as a "live hinge" design that allows a piece of wood to bend (for example, as the hinge on a box lid).

Materials fee is to be determined.

Details:

• Requires successful completion of the Intro to Laser Cutting class or the equivalent during ETA Open Studio
• Basic computer skills are expected for this class.

• Bring a current-generation laptop (Windows or Mac), or email ETA@bainbridgebarn.org if you do not have a laptop and need to borrow one for this class.
  

• Before the class, download and install Inkscape at this link: https://inkscape.org/en/.
  

• It's also helpful to bring a small USB flash key.
