About

This class has been postponed.

This is an introductory course in working in wax for making pieces to be used in lost wax casting. We will primarily be using the hot tool method to design and build our creations. Projects will be started in the first class session. Students will be able to further develop their designs between classes. In the second class we will work on cleaning up our designs and a thorough discussion of sprueing in preparation for the upcoming lost wax casting class. Students may work on a simple ring, pendant, or pin as their project for this class.

An additional materials fee of $15 will be added to class fee when you register.

Instructor: Chris Stanley is a fourth generation artist/ craftsman who works in a variety of media. After working for many years as a professional model maker in both architectural and design fields, he went into education, teaching a wide variety of classes for the Art Institute of Seattle.
