Happy 3/14, Pi Day! Celebrate with pie and carry it “around” in this snazzy round carrier made of pre-quilted cotton.

About this Class

This carrier is simple to make, and - in the unlikely event you don’t need it for carrying pie on Pi Day - it’s a great gift (someone we know has gifted several of these with casserole dishes and recipes nestled inside).

This is a quick project, and you’ll get plenty of practice sewing bias binding on a curve.

Since this is a sew-along, there will be limited teaching, but a set of instructions will be included, and there will be plenty of experienced sewists around to help.

• Skill Level: Able to follow simple sewing instructions.
• Members pay a materials fee only, non-members pay $20. 
• A $30 materials fee is included in the price of the class, which covers pre-quilted fabric, thread, and bias binding to make one pie carrier.

• Your sewing machine (or reserve one of BARN’s)

• Standard sewing tools: scissors, pins or clips, marking tools

Prerequisites

If you're reserving a BARN sewing machine, you must have completed any session of Learn How to Use the Fiber Studio Sewing Machines.

Instructor

Fran Fuller learned to sew when she was 6 or 7 from her mother, who was a precise, creative, and inspiring sewist and a very patient teacher. Fran sewed her own clothes through high school and college, and now she sews clothing, home decorating items, and bags.
