Learn how to safely use a plunge router and a router table.

Routers, whether hand-held or mounted to a table, are among the most versatile tools in a woodshop. They can be used to make decorative edges, joinery, and exact duplicates of curved parts.

INSTRUCTOR: David Grant got hooked on woodworking as a youngster, when he participated in a 4-H project in Brookfield, Connecticut. That was 50 years ago, and he's still at it, having learned many lessons along the way. "I'm self-taught and still have all my digits," he says, with his customary humor. David is a board member of BARN and was president of Bainbridge Island Community Woodshop before it merged with BARN. He's also been active on many community service projects, including helping Cub Scouts in their pinewood  derby project.
