About

You'll explore the printmaking mediums of linocut, monotype and intaglio.

You'll be encouraged to tie your own interests and passions into your designs, and some image references will be provided to help kick-start ideas. This class is meant to be a beginning taste of  the genre of printmaking as an indirect image-making process.

As mediums are introduced, you'll have an opportunity to explore the techniques, print several versions, and even combine them for multi-layered imagery! Experienced printmaker and educator Dana Harris Seeger will guide you through each process giving you a knowledgeable foundation for your artistic practice.

A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all the materials you'll need.

Instructor
Dana Seeger

Dana Harris Seeger was born in San Francisco and split her childhood between California and Indiana. She pursued her passion in high school and college and received a bachelor's degree in painting from Anderson University in Indiana in 2004 and a master's in fine arts in printmaking from San Jose State University in 2011. She is a member of the California Society of Printmakers. In 2014, Dana co-created an art studio and school in San Jose, Calif., called the School of Visual Philosophy. Her work in printmaking and painting helps her connect real to imagined memories and her life experiences to her heritage. Growing up as a second-generation Baltic American, she has always tried to connect the artifacts acquired from Estonia and Latvia into her own story. She lives in Poulsbo with her husband (a sculptor), daughter, and twin sons. Visit her website at www.danaharrisseeger.com
