Learn how to cut circles, use the grinder, and understand design principles when firing glass at high temperatures as you take on this fun project. You’ll make a colorful, fused glass bowl perfect for cereal or pasta depending what shape you choose.

You'll also have the opportunity to see how the kilns are programmed and set for different results. After this class, you'll be able to work independently during Open Studio hours. 

This class is designed for beginners who would like to learn: 

  • How to cut circles.
  • Circular design planning using design elements like stringers, noodles, and pebbles.
  • Wet-working tools like grinders and ring saws.
  • Kiln firing schedule options to enhance your design.

Details

A $60 materials fee, included in the price of this class, covers everything you need.

Class Policies

  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
  • You must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants in the studio.

Constance Ducar

Constance is enthusiastic about working with beginning students and encouraging a love for glass. She sometimes incorporates fiber or wood as display options with her glass pieces.

Nancy Adams

Nancy Adams has loved everything glass since she was a young child. During the '70s, she dabbled in stained glass and discovered playing with fused glass at Mesolini Glass Studio on Bainbridge Island. She became intrigued with techniques and processes for manipulating the glass. Her 2017 retirement opened the door for the opportunity to pursue glass experimentation and to share with others what she has learned.
