About

Get an introduction to fabric weaving using a frame loom and go home with an elegant case for a cell phone.

You will learn a basic fabric weaving technique and the use of terms such as warp and weft. You will also explore color in design and learn how to assemble a cell phone case from woven pieces.

Students should bring:

  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Tape measure
  • Fabric: 100% cotton in three colors (Bright colors and patterns work best.)
  • Fabric: One yard of one color or pattern plus 1/2 yard of each of two other colors or patterns

Materials fee:

  • None if you bring your own fabric.
  • $25 if using BARN fabric bundles if you would rather not bring your own fabric.

Instructors:

Constance Ducar took a frame loom weaving class at BARN two years ago and hasn’t stopped weaving since. She loves working with the different colors, patterns and textures of fabric that can be woven together on frame looms. Constance also participates in the BARN glass studio.

Carol Lathamhad a fabric background and had taken up weaving when she attended the same frame loom class at BARN that Constance took. She loves the play with color that can be discovered with the frame loom!
