About

This introduction to the vast world of enameling covers kiln firing, painting and sifting techniques, metal preparation, and several enameling techniques. Enameling, a technique used since ancient times, involves fusing glass to metal.

Completion of this class gains you access to Focused Open Studio: Enameling and use of the enameling equipment. Focused Open Studio time for enameling is separate from general-use Open Studio due to the sensitivity of the materials used.

Details

  • This class fulfills the prerequisite for other enameling classes.

Details

  • A $33 materials fee, included in the price of the class, covers all materials needed.
  • You'll have an opportunity to purchase additional copper to make blanks. Please bring cash or check, or pay at the front desk using a card during business hours. And you're welcome to bring copper of your own.
  • Bring a towel for cleanup.
