About

In this class you will learn the steps to prepare a sand mold for casting and then witness the pouring of bronze which has been heated to ~1800º F in our electric furnace. After the part cools you will then shake it out of the sand, cut off the excess material used to fill the mold, and then clean up the piece.

Sand casting is an ancient art that still seems magical. It is used for simple utilitarian objects, art pieces, and industrial purposes.
