Introduction to 3D Printing

This class is an introduction for anyone looking to learn to use BARN's 3D printer. Students will be guided through the process of choosing a 3D model from an online source, preparing it, and then printing it on the Ultimaker at BARN. Topics such as materials, printer settings, and common problems will be covered. Some basic computer skills such as transferring files, using hotkeys, and navigating though new applications will be required during this class.

Class requirements:
-Current generation laptop (Windows preferred, Mac OK)
-Students are asked to bring a laptop with Cura 15 installed (link below). Please make sure to select Cura 15, not Cura 2.

Instructor: This class will be taught by David Markus. David has a BFA in Industrial Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He specializes in 3D modeling for architecture, product design and production design.
