About

Learn to make several styles of twisted canes that can be applied to all your other glass creations such as beads and marbles. The instructor will demonstrate several methods and designs, and you'll have time to make them yourself with assistance from the instructor, as desired. Class will be taught with soft glass to maximize productivity during class, but the techniques you'll learn will transfer to borosilicate glass.

Details

• A materials fee of $20, included in the cost of this class, will provide everything you need. Several colors of soft glass rods are included in the class materials fee. You may or may not have some left to take home after class, depending how quickly you work.
• You're welcome to bring additional glass and materials, like mandrels,  to practice applying the twisties.

Project

Some students may leave with a finished project such as beads or marbles, but the primary focus of this class is on making twisty cane components to be used in other projects. Some techniques for applying the canes to items such as beads and marbles will be discussed.

Prerequisites

• This class is for intermediate students. You should have taken an introductory beads or marbles class.
• Students with only borosilicate experience are welcome in this class but encouraged to try out soft glass at least once during open studio time before coming to class.
