About

Have an idea for a movie, documentary, or television series, but have no idea how to pitch it to an investor, on-screen talent, production company or network?

In this two-day class, you will learn how to put together an effective presentation of your concept called a “pitch deck.” You will use still photos and information that could catch the eye of someone who can help you get the project made.

We will learn what makes a good deck (with examples), where to find the elements you need to build a good deck, and what software (free and paid) you need to create your masterpiece.

*This is not a ‘pitch the producer’ session. This class will simply give you a leg up on the competition by putting together an eye-catching visual document to present your concept.

Instructor Bio:

Courtney G. Jones is a 30 year veteran of the film & television industry who has been an advocate for the kind of accessibility mobile filmmaking brings to creators for several years. Not only does Courtney serve as Head of Development for Steve Zahn & Rick Gomez’s company, Macaroni Art Productions, but he has produced and directed feature films, commercials, documentaries, and series… some of which have been shot on mobile. Mr. Jones brings a wealth of technical and creative know-how to the classroom.

Courtney’s main goal with teaching mobile content creation is to show that anyone can make something amazing with the technology that is in their pocket.

When Courtney is not writing, producing, filming, editing or teaching, he’s typically daydreaming about flying, living on a boat, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
