We will first go over what measures you need to take to safely compete electrical repairs in your home. You will learn the way outlets and switches are normally wired. Then, working on a sample electrical box, you will remove and replace an outlet and switch.

We will also demonstrate how to replace a ceiling light in your home and show  the kind of ceiling box needed to hang a heavy light or ceiling fan.  

You will learn which tools you will need to complete common electrical repairs and you will go home with a list of these tools so that you can add them to your  home repair tool box.  

Details:

• Open to beginners.
  
• You can sign up for each Home Repair class or just the ones that interest you or suit your schedule. It is not necessary to take the classes in any particular order.
  
• A $10 materials fee, to cover shop supplies and materials for the class, will be added to the class fee when you register and pay.

Short-sleeve or tight-cuff tops and close-toe comfortable shoes are required. No jewelry other than "button-type" earrings for women is allowed, so no rings, bracelets, necklaces. Long hair must be tied back.
