Come join designer & founder of Minnie + George, L.A. Caldwell, as she provides guided and hands-on instruction on how to make your own leather tote bag using traditional leather-working techniques.

In this 4.5 hr class, you'll learn:

• How to cut and prep leather to sew.
• How to use the basic tools needed to practice traditional leather-working.
• How to saddle-stitch.
• How to apply protective finishes.

All needed supplies, hardware, and leather are provided for the class.  In addition to a completed tote bag at the end of class, students will receive an instruction manual with full dimensions of bag, step-by-step how-to guide, leather-working tips and information on resources.

Students have a choice between natural veg tanned leather or black chap leather.

ALL LEVELS WORKSHOP: This is a great class for total beginners as well as intermediate level students looking to hone their leathercraft skills.

L.A. Caldwell was born in Pasadena, CA in 1974.  She has always been a creative spirit, spending hours drawing on her bedroom floor as a child.  She's been a Jane of all trades -- from private shopper for some of Washington D.C.'s political and business elite in the 90's, to floral designer, to English teacher in multiple Spanish-speaking countries.  She's now focusing her creativity, love of adventure, and retail experience in creatingMinnie + George.
