About

Calling all Super Heroes, Anime Lovers, Monsters, Wizards and Witches!

On Sunday October 15th the BARN Fiber Arts Studio and Bainbridge Performing Arts are teaming up to help you fully realize your aesthetic potential!

It is time to break out your plans for Halloween costumes and makeup and bring them to an afternoon of fun with other imaginative people and consultants.  By the end of the afternoon you will be well on your way to designing and creating your Halloween costume and makeup.

We have a team of sewing, artistic, and makeup consultants to help you translate your designs and ideas into a costume.

  •  Kathy Mack, director of the sewing program in the BARN Fiber Arts Studio, will be the team leader for the costume design and construction phase of the workshop.
  •  Liz Ellis, the director of education for the Bainbridge Performing Arts, and her students will help workshop participants with makeup ideas that can be created easily with regularly available items.

It should be an afternoon of fun and creativity.

Children of all ages (6 to 110+) are welcome.

Children under the age of 14 will need to accompany and supervise the adults making the costume for them.

What to Bring:

  • Fabric and any embellishments for the costume.
  • Costume pattern and/or drawings of the costume.
  • Items from home that could be used in creating your costume.  For example: duct tape, bubble wrap, paper plates, cotton balls, large soda bottles, vinyl, wire, tubing, or ??? ).
  • Your imagination and design ideas.
  • Sewing machine, if you have one.
  • Scissors, straight pins, seam ripper, and thread.
  • Makeup you would like to use.

There is an additional cost of $5 for materials. This will be added to the total of the class fee when you register and pay online.

Class is free to BARN Members and $10 for Non-Members.
