Work independently on frit and foliage projects under the guidance of renowned glass expert Diane Bonciolini of Mesolini Glass Studio. This is a great opportunity to build your knowledge, and she'll offer basic instruction on glass cutting for beginners just learning about fused glass. 

Details

  • The first day is mandatory.  Once a powdered creation has been fired, it's possible to slump the glass at another time.   
  • This is a great guided workshop after taking Frit and Foliage (also taught by Diane) Oct. 16, 17, and 18.
  • In preparation, you may want to the take Try It! Glass Cutting noon to 2 pm on Oct. 25, taught by Gregg Messmer for a more comprehensive lesson on best practices for cutting glass with multiple applications. Greg and Diane are Messolini Glass Studio. 

Details

All tools provided by BARN for new artists. Others may bring their own tools and project materials if preferred. Material for projects will be available for purchase from the studio. Please bring cash or check for payment. 

Prerequisites

Previous enrollment in Frit & Foliage or instructor approval.

Class Policies

Ages 14 and up are welcome.

Diane Bonciolini

Diane Bonciolini is the olini of Mesolini Glass Studio. Glass is her passion. As a full-time glass artist who has lived and worked on Bainbridge Island since 1977, she grows and changes with every project. She describes glass as having a life of its own. This multifaceted medium shows itself in each of her creations: stained glass, slumped and fused glass, lamp work, or glass combined with concrete.
