About

BARN Member: $80
Non-member: $92

Materials fee (payable in class): $20 for kiln + $5 for studio + any glass purchases

Do you prefer the freedom of deciding what fused glass art you create? Then, this workshop is for you. Spend three hours working on a fused glass project of your choice with an instructor's guidance, suggestions, and tips. Choose from a variety of projects: (1) one that will be fired only once, such as coasters, trivets, tiles, triptychs, upright flat sculptures to be displayed in a stand, wall hangings, or something else that interests you; or (2) choose from a wide selection of molds at the glass studio and create a decorative bowl, plate, or platter to be fired twice in the kiln.

These once-monthly workshops will coincide with an Open Studio time, be limited to no more than two students at a time, and be taught by the monitor. You can bring your own glass or buy from a limited supply at the studio. If you buy glass at the studio, be sure you check out the supply before the session begins.

Prerequisite: you must be able to cut glass.

Email Theresa Smith if you already have a project in mind, if you have questions about ordering your own glass, if you have a question about fees, or if you have other questions.

Hint: If you split the kiln firing with one other person, it costs $10 per firing.

Instructor: Teri Smith has worked with fused glass for over ten years, selling individual pieces, designing commission artwork, giving gifts, or decorating her own home.   Having joined BARN, Teri also enjoys taking jewelry classes and has written a published comic romantic mystery, Affection for Crime.
