Guided Pen Turning Open Studio
For woodworkers wanting hands-on instruction and individual assistance with a focus on pen turning.
Details
- This is a shared studio session rather than a structured class. Guidance will be tailored to each participant’s project and experience, but the session is not intended to replace required tool training or safety authorization.
- The Guided Pen Turning Open Studio is limited to making pens and other authorized small items with carbide turning tools.
- Participants must bring their own pen kits, blanks, and other project-specific materials.
- Lathes carbide turning tools, and standard pen-making equipment will be shared with participants. Participants may use only those tools and equipment for which they have already completed the required training and safety authorization.
Prerequisites
- Participants must have completed Introduction to Pen Turning or otherwise be authorized to use the lathe and carbide turning tools for pen making.
Class Policies
- You must wear safety glasses and closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and avoid dangling clothing and jewelry. We recommend bringing your own safety glasses.
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
