BARN member: $56

Materials fee:  $TBD payable in class
This includes a stone, 18kt gold bezel wire and sterling silver base.

Saturday, June 11  from 10 am to 3 pm

Want to incorporate white, yellow or Rose Gold into your creations? Spend the day with jewelry artist Robin Callahan learning ways to successfully work with gold.

How it heats, how to use it with sterling silver, what solders to use with different gold are a few of the tricks Robin has learned and will share! You will create your own 18kt yellow gold bezel and solder to 20 gauge sterling silver base so you can then create a pendant or ring. Robin will demonstrate with yellow gold and rose gold as well as assist you on your first gold creation.

This is an intermediate level class. Students should be able to solder on their own.

Instructor: Robin Callahan is the perfect example of what the BARN is all about. Just two years ago she took her first class with Jane Martin and is now a busy full time Metalsmith and Jewelry Designer.
She has always had art in her life starting in high school. She studied Film and TV Production in college and later owned her own production company on Maui. Her move to Bainbridge Island in 1993 inspired her to open an art gallery in Seattle's Pioneer Square that she had for over 10 years. After a bit of a rest she then opened Adam & Eve Clothing Company, a high end boutique on Bainbridge Island.
"I have to say I am having a blast now working with mixed metals and excited to share some of those skills in this class."
