A grab and go skirt is a thing of beauty to be cherished forever. Isn’t that how the saying goes? Because it should! Join us to create a skirt that fits YOUR body in that perfect length you love to wear in that fabric you love so much. Yes, those things are different for different folks so we’ll start at the beginning with taking custom measurements and adapting your skirts to meet your needs. Pockets? YUP! (If you want.) Extra fullness? Sure! Closer fitting? That too! It’s all up to you. We will use a single layer, wrap skirt pattern and make alterations to length and fullness to suit you best. Once you try this skirt, you’ll be ready for next steps to tackle more complicated patterns. One skirt; one weekend. Let’s do this!
Supplies Needed:
- Your sewing machine and basic supplies
- Tailor’s tape
- pins and clips
- fabric marker
- scissors
- fabric*
*Fabric amounts vary per person and skirt length. We will email you all instructions for calculating fabric amounts before the class starts. Email class@shannonandjason.com if you need help deciding fabric amounts or picking other materials for class.
This workshop will be recorded. The recording will be available to registrants for 30 days after the class. Can’t join at the scheduled time? Register anyway, and you can watch—as many times as you like—for 30 days!

Instructor Bio:
Shannon Leigh Roudhán and Jason Bowlsby are the dynamic DIY duo from Seattle, Washington. Their award-winning crochet, knit, and sewing designs have been featured in and on the covers of domestic and international publications and their craft, portrait, and fashion photography has appeared in books and magazines around the globe. Shannon & Jason have published 10 books of crochet and knitwear patterns including complete Crochet Course – the Ultimate Reference Guide, Designer Crochet, and Crochet Geometry. Their latest book is titled Boro & Sashiko: Harmonious Imperfection from C&T Publishing.
The duo have been partners in life for 27 years and have been teaching adults for 20+ years. With their mastery of subjects from crochet and knitting to photography, spinning, sewing, and quilting, their enthusiasm, quirky sense of humor, and relatable teaching style have made them sought after teachers in both local and national venues such as Sew Expo, Houston Quilt Festival, Pacific International Quilt Festival, and the Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN).
