In this single-session workshop, participants will create a bowl using colorful paints and papers designed for fused glass. The paints and papers are actually fired into the glass, producing a colorful and eye-catching design. This class is offered for any level of glass student; no experience is necessary. Students can use their finished art pieces as a functional glass bowl, as a decorative item, or to give as a wonderful gift.    

Instructor bio:  Elaine Greene has been a ceramic and mixed media artist for over thirty years. She owned her own hand-painted Italian pottery business in the wine country of Northern California for over fifteen years, selling her work to wineries and retail stores throughout the U.S. Elaine also taught art to children and adults for several years at non-profit art organizations. 

After twenty plus years of creating pottery, she started experimenting with mosaic techniques, fusing glass, torching enamel, and expanding her knowledge of different media. Currently a mixed media artist, Elaine loves to incorporate all of these different media into her artwork.

Her work is sold at shows and privately. She originally moved to Bainbridge Island in 2008 and works out of her home studio. Elaine hopes to expand her class offerings with BARN to include dichroic glass jewelry.
