The holidays are coming and what better gift is there than a favorite photo in a handcrafted glass frame. You will design and create a fun and beautiful frame using fusible glass. Once you have thought of a design that will enhance your favorite photo, you will layer glass to be fired in the kiln. When that process is complete, you will adhere the finished glass to a frame. It is an easy project, and the results are stunning. No experience is needed.
Instructor Bio:
Elaine Greene has been a ceramic and mixed media artist for over thirty years. She owned her own hand-painted Italian pottery business in the wine country of Northern California for over fifteen years, selling her work to wineries and retail stores throughout the U.S. Elaine also taught art for non-profit art organizations to children and adults for several years in Santa Ynez, CA.
After twenty plus years of creating pottery, she started experimenting with mosaic techniques, fusing glass, torching enamel, and expanding her knowledge of different media. Currently a mixed media artist, Elaine loves to incorporate all of these different media into her artwork.
Her work is sold at shows and privately. She originally moved to Bainbridge Island in 2008 and works out of her home studio. Elaine is a member of the steering committee for the BARN Glass Studio and hopes to expand her class offerings with BARN.
