Do the cold and rainy blahs have you down? Then, put Spring in the air by creating a beautiful garden centerpiece in this single-session class! Join Carol Baker at the BARN’s Glass Studio for the Fused Glass Birdbath Class.

In this three-hour class you will

  • Practice cutting glass circles,
  • Design and assemble your own birdbath using fusible art glass,
  • Learn the associated kiln firing schedule to fuse your creation, and
  • Become acquainted with the process of slumping the fused glass into a mold.

At the completion of the class you will have created your own 11" fused glass birdbath. Hint: if it is still too cold outside or if you like your creation too much to put it outside, re-purpose your birdbath. Make it a decorative bowl on your mantel.

Remember to wear close-toed shoes in the Glass Studio.

Instructor:  Carol Baker’s introduction to glass art began with stained glass mosaics while she was living in Virginia in 2005.  After completing many mosaic projects and looking for a creative challenge, she purchased her first kiln, and Lazy Dog Glass Studio was born.  Carol has always appreciated a more functional form of art and strives to create beautiful pieces that can be enjoyed in everyday life. In 2012, she relocated to Bainbridge Island where she continues to study fused glass and to advance her knowledge of the intricacies of warm glass art.
