About

Learn how to make French macarons from Portland’s Decadent Creations Bakery owner and “Chopped” champion Mindy Crosato. Mindy will teach you techniques for making almond meringue, tips for piping perfect little cookies, how to get a tender crumb, and how to achieve those elusive “feet.”

You'll make meringue to create your macaron batter, then pipe your own tray to bake. You'll learn about different flavor variants. You'll fill your own macarons to take home (about a dozen.)

On the menu
  • “Snickerdoodle” macarons (cinnamon shells and buttermilk buttercream).
  • Dutch cocoa macarons with salted chocolate ganache.
  • Raspberry hibiscus macarons with raspberry buttercream.
  • Lavender macarons with lemon buttercream.

Details

  • Do not bring water bottles. Water will be provided.
  • BARN’s kitchen facility regularly uses ingredients on the FDA’s major allergens list. This class uses milk, eggs, and tree nuts (almonds).

Materials

A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers all the ingredients you'll need.

Class Policies

  • You must wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair.
  • Ages 14 and up are welcome.
