Join us in the Great Room for a presentation by Joseph Cavalieri, visiting instructor in the Glass Arts Studio, on his background and art, followed by Q&A and social. If you can, bring an appetizer and/or beverage to share.

Joseph is an award-winning artist and educator who works in a material with a powerful spiritual history: painted stained glass. Stained glass has a powerful tradition that dates back to Medieval windows in cathedrals throughout Europe. Cavalieri's techniques use a similar process of painting and melting enamels on glass in a kiln and updates this historic process by using pop art images.

Joseph’s award-winning work has been exhibited at art galleries and museums in the US, Europe, India, and Australia and can be found in the permanent collection of the Museum of Arts and Design, the Italian American Museum, the Leslie-Lohman Museum, and the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. His public art commissions include an MTA Arts for Transit public art installation in New York, and a six-foot-round stained glass window at Our Lady of Sorrow Church in Brazil. 

His teaching credentials include over 100 workshops in the US, Israel, South America and Europe, including The Studios of the Corning Glass Museum, Penland and Pilchuck glass schools. He has attended 15 art residencies in the US, South America, Israel, Europe, Australia, and India, including the Open Studio Program at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. Two more are coming up in 2026 in China and Italy.
