The flexible shaft drill is an essential tool in the jewelry studio. It is not just a drilling tool, but is used for all types of finishing, adjustments, wax carving, stone setting, and chain making, just to name a few. It can drill, hammer, sand, polish, and bur! The number of accessories seems endless and overwhelming! What are all those parts for and when do you use them?! Come and find out! Students will learn how to get the most of this essential tool, expand their knowledge, and demystify the accessories! Students will get hands on experience and take away samples for thier studio. Bring any related tools that you may have question about.

INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer Stenhouse is a jewelry maker and sculptor living and working in Seattle. She has been teaching Metalsmithing and casting since 1992. She developed the Metalsmithing program at Savannah College of Art and Design, taught at the Vermont Art Exchange, and currently teaches in the Seattle area.
