About

Lace knitting is all about making strategically placed decreases and holes (yarn-overs) in your knitting to create beautiful, intricate, flowing designs that look much harder to make than they really are.

Come to the Fiber Studio on Tuesday evenings, the 20th and 27th, in February for no stress hands-on sessions where you will become familiar with common lace knitting techniques and make a knitted lace bookmark (or scarf). This drop-in session is for new knitters or more experienced knitters wanting to expand their range of techniques. You should be confident with basic knitting skills.

Students Should Bring: - Bring yarn and needles two sizes larger than what is called for with that yarn: around 50 yards of fingering weight yarn to make a bookmark; or 200+ yards of worsted weight yarn to make a scarf.

(We encourage students to go to Churchmouse, our local Bainbridge Island yarn store, for material supplies.)

There is an additional Materials Fee of $5. Please bring cash or check made out to BARN to the first session.
Class handouts will be provided.

Instructor Bio:
Terry Winer is a long-time knitter, spinner, dyer, and sewist who enjoys creating a community of fiber artists who get together work on their fiber projects.  She can be found most Wednesdays, mid-day, spinning or knitting with her fellow BARN members in the Fiber Arts Studio.
