Pamela Galvani is gearing this mini-workshop print workshop to the beginning printmaker. She will cover mixing inks, preparing the printing plates, and using the printing presses. Class time will combine instruction in working in the studio with plenty of time for participants to make several prints.

Note: Although Pam is focusing on the beginning printmakers, artists of all levels will benefit from her feedback and technical advice.

Participation in this workshop qualifies as one of the prerequisites for working solo in the BARN Print Studio.

• This session is geared to the beginning printmaker; however all levels are welcome.
  
• Your participation in this workshop qualifies as one of the prerequisites for working on your own in the BARN Print Studio. 
• Feel free to bring a sack lunch and snacks; you can store and reheat food in the building kitchenette.
• A Materials Fee of $10 will be added to the class cost when you register which includes your first large sheet of print paper.
• Additional paper is available for purchase in the studio at $5/sheet payable with cash or check.
  

About the Instructor

Primarily a printmaker today, Pamela Galvani has been a calligrapher for the past 40 years, incorporating gestural marks into her work. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest twenty-five years ago, Pam Galvani and her family lived in many parts of the United States; travel has thus played a major role in expanding her understanding of how art holds meaning across cultures.

Pam's academic background combines studies in history and graphic design with an active studio practice in lettering and printmaking. She completed her MFA at Vermont College of Art in 2014. Her BA is in history, while her MAT is in history education. Her art has been shown nationally and locally, including the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Pam is currently represented by The Island Gallery here on Bainbridge Island, WA.
