Join us for a day of surprise and discovery while we set aside the rules of reading left to right. Working with transparent inks, overprinting and abstracting, we will learn to see letters of the alphabet as shapes to be spun upside down, repeated and overlapped. This workshop is for people with a willingness to make things up as they go along. Letterpress experience is a plus but not required.

Bring a sense of playfulness and imagination with you, along with a brown bag lunch.

An additional Materials Fee of $10 will be added at registration.

Carl Youngmann and Ellie Mathews operate The North Press in Port Townsend and are not afraid of seeing new approaches to making art on letterpress equipment.
