As you make a small sample engraving, you will learn to prepare images and designs for the laser cutter, how to mask surfaces to enhance certain effects, and how to adjust the laser's intensity and speed.

You will also learn techniques for removing burn marks and other imperfections.

Details:

• Requires successful completion of the Intro to Laser Cutting class or the equivalent during ETA Open Studio
  
• Basic computer skills are expected for this class.

• Bring a current-generation laptop (Windows or Mac), or email ETA@bainbridgebarn.org if you do not have a laptop and need to borrow one for this class.
  

• Before the class, download and install Inkscape at this link: https://inkscape.org/en/.
  

• It's also helpful to bring a small USB flash key.
