About

This class has prerequisites. Please see the description below before registering.

Ready to work bigger? In this class you will learn new ways to incorporate enamel into wall art for your home.

We will be using liquid (painting) enamels as well as dry enamels. We will discuss several different approaches for creating an interesting composition and layering techniques. Safety tips for working large will be covered. Good hand/eye coordination is highly recommended for this class. At the end of class you will have 2 wall pieces mounted on wood, ready to hang in your house or give as a gift!

Supplies Needed:

  • Several photos or images as ideas to use as inspiration. Think patterns, lines, and shapes that are pleasing to you.
  • You will have three sizes to choose from for your wood frame: 5x7, 6x6, or 8x8. Keep these sizes in mind when considering what imagery to bring.
  • If you have taken the Screen Printing or Transfer/Decals class, these would be great to use for layering.

Details:

  • Prerequisite: Intro to Enameling: Opaques. Please check your BARN account before you register to ensure you have completed this prerequisite by viewing the link for "Registrations and events" in your profile.
  • Soldering skills are recommended but not required.

  • $45 materials fee is included in the tuition.

  • Masks are required for all activities in the Jewelry studio.
