Embellished Wool Appliqué and Embroidery
Lisa Mortell's quarterly workshop offers the best of both worlds: new techniques and one-on-one support.
- Morning: Guided activities designed to fine-tune and enhance your wool-embellished applique and embroidery techniques.
- Short break for lunch.
- Afternoon: Open-stitch time! Choose to keep practicing your new skills from the morning session or shift to working on the project you brought with you. This is your chance to get one-on-one support from Lisa.
Details
- Skill level: Everyone from absolute beginners who need help starting their first project to experienced stitchers looking for support with advanced techniques.
- These quarterly sessions (other sessions are set for Feb. 19, May 21, Aug. 20, and Nov. 19- all in 2027) are held in BARN's Great Room, which is to the left as you enter the main doors.
- Bring snacks or a sack lunch for the short break between sessions. Food options near BARN are very limited. There is a refrigerator and microwave on the lower level.
- See Visit BARN for information on getting to BARN, local transportation, lodging, dining, and things to do.
Materials
- You are responsible for bringing your own materials:
- A practice piece of wool.
- Stitching threads, needles, thimbles, and scissors.
- If working on a specific quilt, bring your pattern and all materials for that project.
- Need supplies? Email Lisa ahead of time if you have questions about supplies or want to purchase supplies from her. She will gladly bring them to class for you!
