"E is for Exoplanet" We will look at the nature and detection of planets outside of our solar system: How do we find them? What does it imply for the formation of stars and planetary systems? What have we found? Where are they? Who is Goldilocks and what is her zone? What does it say for life outside of our solar system?

The Hubble Space Telescope revolutionized NASAs ability to study distant stars. Now with the launching of the Kepler, TESS and James Webb space telescopes NASA will be able to determine amazing things about the universe around us. In addition to understanding how our universe formed and what the future holds for it, these tools will allow us to study characteristics of planets orbiting stars millions of miles from our own solar system.

Joining us on this day is Steve Ruhl, the president of the Battle Point Astronomical Association. Steve will share with us his understanding of these new astronomical tools and how they affect the future of mankind.
