About

This edition of ETA Monthly Sunday talks welcome kids and adults of all ages to see what's so cool about Makey Makey invention kits, a kid-friendly circuit board kit that lets you make all sorts of fun and silly things.

Makey Makey fosters the "maker mindset," encouraging kids to bring their ideas to life and embrace the creative process of designing, collaborating, building, making mistakes and trying again.

Check out this short video to see how easy the kits are to work with. Yet they are powerful enough to make such inventions as a banana piano and musical stairs in a home.

Makey Makey started out as a project by two students at MIT Media Lab. For more information about Makey Makey (including a gallery of student inventions) their website is https://makeymakey.com

This is an easy way to preview the BARN summer youth camp "MaKey MaKey Design and Exploration Camp" for ages 9-12, July 16 - July 20.

The talk and demos will be led by Rebecca Graham, the instructor of the summer Makey Makey camp who is happy to show you Makey Makey and answer your questions.

Instructor Bio
Rebecca Graham has been teaching coding and electronics classes to kids and adults for 4 years. She studied Computer Science at the University of Mary Washington and works as a senior software engineer in the areas of machine learning and natural language processing. She loves cats, glitter, putting LEDs on things, and helping people get excited about creating with technology.
