Take the beautiful summer garden and memorialize it.

Eco printing transfers the color from the flowers onto cloth. You'll pick flowers you'd like to use out of the flower dye garden at BARN, and create a beautiful piece of wearable art. You'll learn how to prepare the fabric before eco printing and how to care for it after. You'll create two different silk pieces, a scarf and a bandana, using two different mordant processes.

If this date doesn't work for you, check out the other session of this class on Sept. 20 from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Details

  • No experience needed. This is a great class for parents and kids!
  • Ages 14 and up are welcome. Youth under 14 must register with a parent or guardian.

Materials

  • A $20 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything you'll need for this project.
  • Feel free to bring flowers from your own garden!
Instructor
Sara Bantle

Sara connects to the world through movement, texture, color and fiber, drawing her inspiration from this natural and wild world we live in. Knitting has been her constant companion and gateway into fiber arts. She is an aspiring hat maker, weaver, dyer and sewist, working to find comfort in the beginners mind set, drawn to share her learnings with others.
