Designing for Stained Glass and Copper Foil

Details
- During class, we'll work together discussing and editing everyone’s sketches, with time for you to make your own edits, or free draw to relax and discover new ideas.
- We'll also spend time going over glass types and color choices, and how they can impact your design.
- You’ll leave knowing how to think "design forward" and avoid simple design mistakes.
- No prerequisite necessary, though glass cutting experience is helpful.
- This class is recommended if you're planning to take an upcoming stained glass or copper foil class at BARN.
Materials
- Bring three original sketches to edit and share, any favorite drawing tools, and a sketch book to class.
- Large-scale graph paper and some drawing and drafting tools will be available to share.
Class Policies
- Ages 14 and up are welcome.
- Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required in the Glass Arts Studio at all times.
- Long hair should be tied back.
Instructor
Diane Bonciolini is the olini of Mesolini Glass Studio. Glass is her passion. As a full-time glass artist who has lived and worked on Bainbridge Island since 1977, she grows and changes with every project. She describes glass as having a life of its own. This multifaceted medium shows itself in each of her creations: stained glass, slumped and fused glass, lamp work, or glass combined with concrete.
