Instructor
Kathy Barrett

Kathy works in blowing, fusing, and lampworking glass and often combines all three techniques in one piece. She began as a painter in the early '90s and then was bitten by the glass bug. She prefers a whimsical and painterly quality in her glass pieces and loves to experiment with color. She's also a scuba instructor, so many of her pieces are influenced by marine life. She began blowing, fusing, and lampworking glass in 2001, and since the closest public access glass studio was 75 miles away, started her own tiny studio on Cannery Row in Monterey, Calif., a few months after her first classes in glass. Now she makes glass in her tiny home garage studio in Bremerton.
