About
A variety of plain weave color and weave techniques will be demonstrated and displayed, then you'll be guided to design, warp, and weave your own project. You will learn:
- How to weave with 8/2 cotton on the rigid heddle loom.
- Basic elements of project design, such as division of space, size of finished project, and calculating materials.
- How to finish your towels with a rolled hem.
On day one, you'll design your towels, warp your loom, and weave. On the second day, you'll weave off your towels and watch a finishing demonstration.
Details
- Skill level: You must know how to warp a rigid heddle loom.
- BARN has looms of both sizes. You may choose a finished size according to your preference and time constraints.
- If you have your own 24-inch rigid heddle loom that you'd like to use, bring it along with a 10 dent reed that fits your loom.

A $25 materials fee, included in the cost of the class, covers everything you need. This provides enough 8/2 cotton to weave two hand towels of about 15 by 25 inches (16-inch loom) or 22 by 30 inches (24-inch loom).
