About

An email was received from Pam on 2/25. The instructor became unexpectedly unavailable to teach this class. Students were notified 2-26 and refunds will be issued.~tt

The Italic hand was first developed during the Italian Renaissance to be used by scholars, diplomats and papal scribes. Today, it is one of the most prevalent, expressive and versatile scripts available to the calligrapher. This class will study the construction of these beautiful letters, focusing on proportion, rhythm and spacing.

Studying Italic will provide you with the structure for continuing a more formal study of calligraphy and/or improving your everyday handwriting.

In this three-session class, you will begin by using pencil and then quickly move on to using pen and ink as you learn the letterforms.

Details:

  • There is a materials fee of $35 included in the price of class.  At the beginning of class you will receive all the materials you need in one packet. This will include pen nibs, one pen holder, a pad of paper and ink.
  • This is an all-levels class.
  • Tuition assistance is available. Click here to apply.
