Learn the history of bourbon, how it's made, the different styles, its role in American culture, and current trends in American whiskey. You'll sample classic Kentucky bottlings plus a selection of bourbons distilled around the country.

  • A small snack plate is provided, but please consider eating before class.
  • Please note any allergies or dietary restrictions when registering.

Materials

  • A $25 materials fee, included in the price of the class, covers everything you'll need.

Class Policies

  • Ages 21 and up are welcome with valid ID.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • You must be registered (no drop-ins).

 
Instructor
Christopher Gronbeck

Christopher was founder and owner of The Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar in Seattle from 2012 to 2022, and has been a wine & spirits educator for 20 years. Christopher serves as a judge at wine & spirits competitions, and has been teaching beverage classes at BARN since 2023.
