About

**This workshop will be live streamed via Zoom.**

This is a two session introduction to Blender, a full featured 3D design tool. Blender is open source (free!) and very sophisticated. It is used for computer animation, game development, and 3D modeling. You will learn the basics: installation, general use of the tool, and explore modeling, textures, lighting and general rendering.

Each of the two sessions are 2 hours in length.

Session 1:

  • Introduction: what is blender?
  • Download and Installation
  • Exploring the interface

After the first session, students should be able create and render their first 3D model.

Session 2

  • Modeling
  • Materials and textures
  • Lighting
  • Animation
  • Rendering

After the second session, students should be able to animate, light, and texture a basic 3D model. This will be a hands-on class, so the students will have a good mix of learning through observation and by doing.  A 3-button mouse (with scroll wheel) is recommended.
