About

Needlepoint is decorative stitching done on a canvas. Many people think of needlepoint as limited to a simple diagonal stitch, but in truth, this art form encompasses a variety of stitches.

In this class, you'll create a four-inch-square needlepoint sampler using a variety of stitches and learn how each of them can provide texture and interest to your piece. You'll also be given a detailed handout with stitch instructions.

Taught in partnership with The American Needlepoint Guild, an organization that fosters educational and cultural development by promoting and nurturing interest in the art of needlepoint, and fosters a community of individuals passionate about this traditional craft. The Olympic Chapter meets monthly on Bainbridge Island, and provides instruction in topics of interest to needlework, as well as organizing longer educational seminars.
