About
**This event will be live streamed via Zoom.**
We invite BARN Staff, Board Members, and Studio Committee Members to join us on Zoom on Monday, March 29th from 4-5:30pm for our third annual BARN Community Meeting where we gather to discuss topics relevant to the future of BARN.
The topic this year is:
BARN 2021: Re-opening and Re-engaging
After a year of full or partial closure, let’s put our heads together to strategize for reestablishing our vibrant makerspace and learning place once again.
The event will be held on Zoom, and will begin with a brief overview of the past year and what we’ve accomplished since we closed our doors on March 16th. We’ll also review and follow up on the major takeaways from last year’s Community Meeting. Then we will divide into smaller groups for breakout room discussions for 40 minutes on the following three topics:
-
Community Service
It’s a significant part of BARN’s mission, and a meaningful way to give back to our community. In what ways can we strengthen this aspect of our activity in the coming year and beyond?
-
Envisioning the next 12 months of Programming
Where do we see BARN’s programming 12 months from now? What balance would we like to strike between online and in-person activity. What is realistic for us to accomplish?
-
Re-engaging our Membership
Despite the rich online content we have delivered over the last 10 months, we have seen a significant drop in membership. In what ways can we welcome individuals and provide benefits that will bring value and connection for members?
All groups will be challenged to think about how we can engage and welcome diverse populations at BARN. Highlights from each breakout session will be shared with the large group toward the end of our meeting, then we will finish with some next steps and action items from the meeting.
When you register, please select one of the breakout room topics you would like to participate in so we will know how many people to expect for each topic. You will be required to enter a registration passcode. The passcode was emailed to you in a separate email from Denise. You can also email registrar@bainbridgebarn.org to register.
If you have any questions, please reach out to our Executive Director Denise Dumouchel or Program Manager Jess Henderson.
We’re looking forward to spending the afternoon with you and hearing your ideas on re-building and re-energizing BARN this year!
