In this class you will learn how to move beyond basic PLA and PETG, and successfully print with more advanced materials such as ABS, ASA, Nylon, Polycarbonate, and fiber-filled filaments. We will discuss some of the pitfalls, tips, and techniques for each of these materials. In particular we will focus on how to apply these concepts to the tools available in the BARN Tech Lab. 

Details

  • The class will primarily be a lecture format with time for questions, and possibly some brief hands-on time with the Tech Lab printers.
  • This class is still in active development so bring your questions and help shape the direction we take! 

Prerequisites

  • Either Intro to 3D Printing, or experience successfully printing in PLA or PETG using Prusa Slicer.

Instructor
Nathan Abell

Nathan teaches laser cutting and soldering classes for the Tech Lab. He enjoys building 3D printers, electronic circuit design, and making Renaissance-inspired swords and daggers.
